Dear H B E A Member,
The HBEA Executive Board pulled back from our hectic, year-end schedules and focused on other matters for several months. Have you missed us? Well, we are now back - with a vengeance – ready to move forward with exciting new educational seminars, newsletters, and networking opportunities to enrich your burgeoning professionalism. In plain words, it's time to get back into HBEA activities!
Fall Conference. We all need something new to look forward to, in order not to stagnate - something that will start our creative juices flowing. After all, Fall is in the air; the time of growth and budding is over! Our first opportunity in 2010 arrives on Saturday, October 30, 2010, when we hold our annual Fall Conference. This year’s theme is “Mac Curious!!” (Run PC programs on a MAC) and will be held on the Leeward Community College (LCC) campus. Save that date on your calendar and watch for an agenda and registration form.
Newsletter. We'd like to provide you with an interesting and informative newsletter, but it will take teamwork from everyone to provide the material. We need news items, people items, event items, and professional items. Please send your news material to John Scott at (scottj001@hawaii.rr.com). We need your support. Mahalo nui loa to John, who has agreed to publish our HBEA newsletter until we find someone else. Any volunteers out there??
Membership. Watch for exciting things happening from our Membership Committee Chair, Dottie Sunio, and your Executive Board.
Enough of just sitting around and letting our minds gather cobwebs. It's high time for some challenging HBEA activities. Let's make 2010 a good year - no, a GREAT year. Come and get involved. I double dare you.
With fond aloha,
Ku`uipo Lum
President
